What is an extension?

Extensions are similar to Apps on an iPhone. You install them and they integrate into Joomla, expanding the functionality of your Joomla site. Extensions can be as simple as image galleries, but many extensions are very powerful and can transform your site into an eCommerce solution or facebook style social site. 

Where do I get extensions? 

Visit the Joomla Extensions Directory (JED). There are over 10,000 available for download. 

Are extensions free or do they cost money? 

Some extensions are free, and some cost money. In some cases we recomend going with the commercial extensions simply because the developers of that extension are more likely to offer you support and provide updates if needed. However, there are many great free extensions as you will see. 

How do I install an extension? 

Installing an extension is as simple as uploading the file into your Joomla site. Be sure that your extension is compatible with your version of Joomla. Learn how to install a Joomla extension.

Does CloudAccess.net support 3rd party extensions? 

We focus our main support on Joomla. As you can understand, there is no way we could become experts at all 10,000 extensions that are out there. So we encorage you to request support from the developers of the extensions. In most cases, extension developers will include a forum for questions and documentation on using the extension.
